Placing Calls

To place a call using your Biztouch5/6 dial the phone number. You many need to dial 9, depending on configuration by system administrator. You can also use the Redial key to call back the last number you dialed.

Answering Calls

To answer a call simply pick up the handset and the call will be connected. Alternatively, you can press one of the following: the Speaker, Headset, Check-mark key, a Call or Line Appearance(if avail, see Assigning Buttons). Pressing either the Speaker or Headset key will answer the call using the selected method. Pressing the Check-mark will answer the call using the last used method.

Handling Multiple Calls

If your phone is programed with multiple Call Appearances or Line Appearances(see Assigning Buttons), you can swap to another call by pressing the respective Call or Line key.

Hold, Transfer, and Conference

To place a call on Hold press the Hold button. To resume the call press hold or press the Call or Line Appearance(if avail, see Assigning Buttons).

There are two ways to perform a Transfer. First is a blind transfer, where the person transferring the call does not introduce the call. A blind transfer can be accomplished by pressing transfer, then dialing the extension, then hanging up. The second method is an attended transfer, where the person transferring the call introduces the call. This can be done by pressing hold, dialing the extension you wish to transfer to, their phone will begin to ring, when the answer you can introduce the call, then when ready press the transfer button and hang up to complete the transfer.

To create a 3-way conference, establish the first call, place the call on hold, dial or answer the second call. When the call is connected, press the conference button to join all parties together.

Do Not Disturb

The DND button will cause all calls to your extension to immediately redirect to your voicemail box without ringing your phone.

Menu Button (BT6 Only)

The menu button gives you the ability to set your Cell Phone, Forwarding, DND, and Login/Logout of the Agent Group. Listing your Cell Phone number allows you to set calls to simultaneously ring your Cell Phone on demand or following a schedule (see Cell Phone Integration). You can also set where you would like calls forwarded when you are busy(on another call) or do not answer your phone, as well as forward all calls.

Directory Button

The directory button provides the user with a list of extensions on the system. Entries in the Address Book are also included. The list is also searchable by using the keypad.

Retrieve Button

The Retrieve Button will bring you to your voicemail menu. See Mailbox for more information.
